MY BOOK IS OUT NOW!
Hunting Vienna, my debut novel, is out now!
I am so excited to finally be able to say that my debut novel, Hunting Vienna, a Young Adult contemporary adventure novel, is out into the world! It is a story about friendship, coming of age, and mental health, all wrapped-up in a thrilling scavenger hunt competition of historical artefacts in Vienna, Austria. Perfect for fans of John Green and Alice Oseman's books.

I'M PUBLISHING MY BOOK!
Hi friends,
It's kind of a weird feeling going from a normal reader profile on Goodreads, a platform I've used for well over 10 years to find and review new books, to now being an AUTHOR profile with MY OWN BOOK up on Goodreads. What??? That's crazy, but such a dream come true.
In case you missed it, my debut novel,
But first, let me re-introduce myself.
My name is Iasmina. You might have come across my Youtube channel before, or know me from my various social media profiles where I talk about books and writing. I was born in Romania and am currently living in Denmark where I work as a frontend web developer and write Young Adult fiction in my spare time. When I'm not immersed in writing or coding, I love reading, playing video games, painting, and spending time with my husband, daughter, and two pets—the latter three of which share names with characters from a popular MOBA game.
I started writing stories as young as 8 years old, and I remember reading one of these stories to my grandmother who laughed so hard at my slapstick comedy that it brought her to tears. That was the first moment I thought maybe this was something worth pursuing. Since then I have completed four full novels as an adult (we don't count the half-attempts I wrote as a teenager), and, as of 2024, I am starting to release them to the world.
Hunting Vienna is a book I first started writing back in 2011, when, fresh out of highschool, I challenged myself to finish a book over the summer. HA! As if. I did write quite a bit of it then, but soon I moved to Denmark and started my brand new life as an independent young adult, which didn't leave me a lot of time to dedicate to my hobbies. It was only a few years later, in 2014, that I finished that very first draft. In fact, I made a video about it back then, which you can watch here if you're curious. However, as you can imagine, that first draft left much to be desired in terms of quality. In fact, quite the opposite. It was a pile of garbage. But it was my first ever COMPLETED pile of garbage, which was another huge moment in my writing journey. Because it showed me I can actually finish a book. I can write a story from start to finish.
I have lost count of the numbers of drafts, revisions, and edits this book has gone through. I have almost given up on it so many times. Wrote other books in between. But it, the book, didn't give up on ME, knowing that I will one day get it right. I hope I have.
