Highly entertaining sci-fi. The interaction between the MC and the alien are terrific and the best part of the book. The only weakness is the obsession with the science and math and the extensive details that at a times bogs down the narrative.

This was a terrifically ambitious concept that was good but not great. The historical chapters were excellent. But they were long and at times I lost the modern characters with the length of the historical chapters.
