Hlín Agnarsdóttir has studied Drama at the Universities of Uppsala and Stockholm, and directing in London.
She has written three books, the novels Hátt uppi við Norðurbrún (High up by North Edge) and Blómin frá Maó (The Flowers from Mao), as well as her autobiography Að láta lífið rætast (Letting Life Work Itself Out). She has also written stage plays, which have been performed in the National Theatre of Iceland, and scripts for television and radio. She has directed in all the foremost theatres in Iceland, as well as translating plays by Lars Norén.
