Forgiveness - The Hidden Key to Success, Happiness & Freedom

My own life experience, along with countless stories I’ve heard & read from others, has taught me that forgiveness is the most powerful tool we have – aside from unconditional love, itself – for creating lasting success & happiness in our lives. It’s a word we all know, so why do I call it the “hidden key”?

It’s one of those things that’s hidden in plain sight because most people don’t understand what forgiveness really is or how to do it, let alone the power it has to transform our lives. Most of us only know it as a word that lives in the same neighborhood with apology, but not as an intentional action to be used as a tool for life mastery.

Truth: Forgiveness is not for the other person. It’s for the sake of your own freedom! The other person may very well benefit, but even if they don’t, you will

If you’re living in a state of un-forgiveness, you burn a huge amount of energy focusing on the wrong that’s been done to you, instead of spending that time living with peace of mind & rockin’ your world. Your emotional state determines the quality of your life. Choosing to forgive others in order to achieve well-being is a massive act of Self-Love!

Who, or what, do you need to forgive to get on with your happiness? Are you willing to do it right now? If not, please take a minute to calculate the number of days, months or years that you are willing to stay locked in the prison created by a hurtful word or wrongful act.

Then make a note to self. You hold the key.

Live Your Truth As If Your Life Depends On It - 'Cuz it Does

How much thought do you put into the fact that YOU are inseparable from your truth?

If you're living what you know to be true for you, deep in your gut, no matter what anyone else thinks of it, then you are really living.

If you've got your truth hidden away, in a deep dark place inside, where no one else can see it - if you're living as you think you should, based on others' expectations & society's norms - you're committing slow suicide.

Yep. You can feel it sucking the life right out of you.

Halloween is approaching.
Give that false persona one last hoorah.
Then, don't you agree
that it's time to take off the mask
& start living?

Wild Sync - Music Teaches a Simpler Way to Make Relationships Work

My friend, G3, is putting images & video together for Halloween in The REALM. We were discussing the format for the show & I told him we might want to look at potential images while going over songs to see what works together.

That's when he enlightened me to a new term, as he often does. He said, "We could just wild sync it."

Huh?

Wild sync happens naturally when images & music are allowed to run simultaneously for an intended purpose. The human brain says, "Wow, the music fits so perfectly with that photo." It's a lot easier than painstakingly working to make everything match in a controlled fashion.

This concept got me thinking about the way this could be applied to any relationship, whether it be music to image, or person to person. I Googled the term & found an article in Electronic Musician that speaks beautifully about rhythmic timing.

"Although tight timing is a worthy goal, being close in tempo rather than locked to the beat is much easier to achieve. Surprisingly, this wild sync is often more expressive, as well."    ~David Battino, author of The%20Art of Digital Music: 56 Visionary Artists and Insiders Reveal Their Creative Secrets (Includes DVD)The Art of Digital Music: 56 Visionary Artists & Insiders Reveal Their Creative Secrets

If you're not a musician, computer geek, synchronized swimmer or such, this might sound like a bunch of blah, blah. So, how about applying it to your relationships?

We often seek to direct, or control, relationships in a way that is most beneficial for us - or, at least, in a way that we can most readily see on the surface. The idea of letting go a bit more - feeling the rhythm & pulse of the moment, the other person's breathing, the cadence of their speech, the flow of their energy - & allowing our own natural rhythm to find its course in relation to theirs can seem scary. In fact, letting go of control is akin to death.

What if it's easier, however, to more fully express yourself & to hear the other person more clearly by letting go? Maybe we run over & bump into one another by trying to get others to "lock in" to exactly what we're saying, thinking or feeling. Do we so constrict ourselves with the need to "control the beat" that we cease to dance?

I think I'll try a little wild sync on for size - see how it changes the communication.

What about you? Interested in getting wild?
C'mon, share a story.

Kindness. It's Sexy, Righteous & Powerful. Is it a part of your strategy?

It's always interesting to observe the "powerful" at work & those who believe themselves to be powerful. What a difference!

I attended the *NAB/RAB RadioShow last week & heard a passionate keynote from entrepreneur/radio host, Tom Joyner, followed by a heartfelt award acceptance from Dan Mason, President, CBS Radio & a man equally impassioned by radio - & life.

Following the luncheon, I spoke with both men & was not only impressed, but inspired by their genuine natures & ability to connect in the present moment.

By contrast, I met others who stayed busy checking their cell phones or looking around the room as they feigned conversation. One, the manager of a well-known show host, even sneered at my offer to send him my novel, Heaven, for a possible interview. Really? No problem - your loss, buddy. Not because he needs to accept, but because his attitude is a reflection of his inner life.

Power-full people understand that there's magic in the moment & they want to make sure they don't miss it. Their hallmarks: sparkling eyes, warm smile, open heart, kind nature, presence in & with the moment.

Their energy is fully connected - tethered at both ends of the spectrum. They are sexually magnetic & spiritually inspired (whether they recognize it in that particular way or not).

Dan Mason had just finished accepting a big industry award & was surrounded by congratulating peers & admirers. He welcomed me, graciously, when I approached.

I walked the hall with Tom Joyner after the luncheon. It was easy, comfortable. We parted with Tom saying, "Be easy".

Yeah. Right on.

Are you acting powerful or actually power-full? Because there's kindness in real power. Check yourself - regularly - to feel & understand if you're flowing. If not, it's time. Get to the nearest A/C & jack in.

The world is evolving. Peace, patience, love, joy, truth, kindness, gratitude, forgiveness, generosity, trust, faithfulness, self-control...are sexy, righteous & powerful.

The Price of Flying Higher

I ran across an article about Richard Bach, the author of the 1970's bestseller, Jonathan Livingston Seagull, who was seriously injured when his small plane clipped power lines earlier this month. He seems to be recovering well &, at 76, is apparently still soaring like "the gull".

Jonathan Livingston Seagull is the story of a bird with the dream & the drive to become an extraordinary flyer. The price of his endeavors is banishment from his clan.

It often happens that when we reach for our dreams, seek to create new adventures for ourselves & step further into our life purpose, we face the misunderstanding of others. We are actually shifting energy & those around us can feel it. It can be experienced as excitement, but our loved ones & co-workers can also become uncomfortable as they sense the shifting of their own roles in our lives. They may become angry, needy, or may even "banish" us, as JL Seagull experienced.

“He spoke of very simple things- that it is right for a gull to fly, that freedom is the very nature of his being, that whatever stands against that freedom must be set aside, be it ritual or superstition or limitation in any form.

"Set aside," came a voice from the multitude, "even if it be the Law of the Flock?"

"The only true law is that which leads to freedom," Jonathan said. "There is no other.”
~ Richard Bach, Jonathan Livingston Seagull

When you dare to live in the freedom of your truest self, you will face obstacles. Let those obstacles be a sign that you are on the right path. Rise to the occasion. Go over, under, around or through. Understand the discomfort of others. You can't change that, but you can choose to respond by loving at your highest level. You are here to create.

“He was not bone and feather but a perfect idea of freedom and flight, limited by nothing at all.”    ~ Richard Bach, Jonathan Livingston Seagull

Have you dreamed of soaring beyond your limitations? What price have you paid for doing so?

Run the Race Like You've Already Won

Here's a POWERFUL idea for you.

Operating like you've already won makes ALL the difference!

When I really looked at this, I realized how much stress & worry it removes, instantly. If you've already made the big sale, had the difficult heart-to-heart talk, rehabilitated from the accident, aced the test, won the race & wowed the audience, you're in celebration mode!

It only makes sense to go into everything, then, from the perspective of having already won. It's a little different from having a "winning attitude", which can be hard to conjure sometimes. It seems that it's more about developing a deep understanding that, in the end, Love wins.

It's about where you put the focus. Love is an act, an attitude, a state of being, a refusal to die before you're dead. Acting as Love itself is a radical act - generated from the heart.

Love Wins

So, start with the end in mind - 'cuz Love is a humongous, all-encompassing energy.

What do you have to lose?

Secrets for Living a SuperCharged Life

I had the privilege of seeing & hearing Brendon Burchard, author of the NY Times bestselling book, The Charge, at the eWomen Annual Conference in July (where I, incidentally, took the opening morning stage to assist Sandra Yancey in rocketing the audience into high gear!).

Kimberly Cain_eWomen Conference 2012 Kimberly Cain_Sandra Yancey_Melba Stevens_Goga_eWomen Conference 2012

It takes a lot of energy to get up on a large stage & motivate an early morning audience. The key is having the understanding that it's not my energy. It's energy that I allow to channel through me. As Brendon states so well, a power plant isn't the power itself, it generates power. How do we become power generators for living lives that rock to the fullest & bless others along the way?

Brendon & I share the philosophy that if you want to live at your highest level of energy, freedom & enthusiasm for life, you need a creative practice that continually feeds your body, mind & spirit. This philosophy is echoed by high-performing individuals in every walk of life from billionaire business mogul & philanthropist Sir Richard Branson to former President Bill Clinton to Jesus.

If you're looking to supercharge your life in a sustainable way, I highly recommend The Charge.

True Power? It's on the Inside

When do you feel the height of your Power?

Power meaning this: you feel the complete & total rightness of who you are & what you're doing in this world & that it matters; you "buzz" with an energy that is vibrant & peaceful at the same time; you know that this energy is eternal - larger than your physical body & able to propel your physical body to take action that is gratifying for you & in service to others as well. In other words - you kick ass in a holy kinda way.

The only true power comes from within. You have access to it every single moment. And no one can take it from you. Breathe that in.

Bathe in it.

Live it.

Bless us all with the expression
that comes in the package of You.

If you don't know when you feel (or if you've ever felt) this kind of Power, it will be well worth your while to spend time with your own beloved Self figuring it out. Your Life depends on it.
