J. Dash is Cool

While sitting in the waiting room this morning to go on Daytime as a guest to talk about my new book Hack's 191< /i>, I had the pleasure of getting to know Jameyel Johnson a little bit. He is better known as "J. Dash" and his CD, Tabloid Truth, just came out today.

Even though Jameyel was tired from taking a red-eye from LA, he had a pleasant disposition and it's obvious he is off the charts smart. He told me he liked baseball and he downloaded my book while we talked. J. Dash is about half my age, but we clicked--definitely a cool kid. Here's hoping he sells a boatload of CDs.

For those interested, that Daytime segment will run on Thursday. It's a nationally syndicated show, though I'm not sure exactly which cities it runs in or at what time. Also, I looked up "J. Dash" on line--because that's what curious journalists do, and I came up with the You-Tube link to his hit single "WOP". Here it is, enjoy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3sFwty....

Taking the Leap

About a year ago, Amanda Hocking's story got me all jazzed up about ebooks. Now after a year of deliberating, I've finally taken the leap, converting one of my novels--Peachtree Corvette Club< /i>--into an ebook after working out an arrangement to regain my rights to the book from its original publisher (it came out in paperback in 2011).

Right now you could fill the ocean with all I don't know about ebooks, social media and the like. Still, I'm excited about the prospects of learning about all of the above. For starters, I don't mind the idea of having another way to generate income from the books I write, after all, I'm not a communist (one of my favorite Godfather lines). But I think what I'm most excited about is being able to control my own destiny in regard to the books I write. And I also like the idea that people are still reading, they're just using a different method of reading. So I'm eager to see what happens in the coming months.

If you want to know more about my other books, please take a look at my website at billchastain.com.
