Major Update!

You know her! You love to love, yet maybe(?!) hate her!? (Only because she’s so naive). But Julie’s story is continuing in early 2025. Hollywood After The Psycho will have a dual timeline and dual perspective. We will hear from Julie 30 years after everything took place in 1993. We will also hear from another character 6 years after everything happened.

This one’s going to be a good one! Will Julie get the justice she deserves?! Find out when Hollywood After The Psycho lands in 2025!!!!

It’s Been A While…

I am terrible at running this website. I will admit that truthfully. I don’t even know if anyone looks at it. Since my last post I released Hollywood Psycho The Luke Townsend Story and have had great success! At least, I think it’s been great!

The first eight months of 2024 were rough and very unkind to me. I, for whatever reason, shut down and was in a very not Brittany state. I tried getting myself out of it for months, but every time I thought I was getting out of it I was sucked back in.

Now as we are nearing the end of 2024, I am back to being my happy.m, excited self and am so proud of how far I have come and grown this past year.

I have built some beautiful friendships that I will forever be grateful for and they are all thanks to TikTok!

I often think of a video I saw of author Michelle Black talking about her book, saying, “Life happens when you’re making plans.” Let me tell you, that is Exactly what happened this year.

Hopefully I will return to my website more regularly and hopefully I’ll get around to sprucing it up a bit! I mean I have a whole other book to promote!!!!

Wishing whoever is reading this, it’s literally probably just my mom (Hi Mom!), all of the love and positive vibes ever!

The whole Other book.

Hello 2024!

New year, New Goals!!! I don’t like to set resolutions for myself, I like to set goals! This year I am hoping to release my second novella entitled, Hollywood Psycho: The Luke Townsend Story, which will be the second book in my Hollywood Psycho Trilogy.

I originally wanted to have three releases this year but had to come to terms with not stressing myself out. So, I have decided to have two releases this year (hopefully). The second release will be the follow up to my first novella, Hollywood Psycho: The Julie Simon Story. Yes, the first book in my trilogy will have it’s own standalone continuation.

The continuation was definitely not planned, but due to popular demand… 🙂 I had quite a few readers want to know if there would be more to Julie’s story. Will she get justice? What happened to the others? Why did Roxy do what she did? What’s her backstory? Well, you will have to wait until the end of 2024, possibly early 2025, to hear the conclusion to Julie’s story. It is written, it just needs to be edited.

I want to put my focus on one book at a time instead of two or three at a time like I was doing just a few short months ago. That was stressful and 2024 is the year of less stress. As much as I want to get my next couple of books out as fast as I can, time and focus will make them great. It will make them ready. Otherwise, I will be putting work that I’m not proud of out there and that would not be cool on my brain.

I can feel 2024 being a Very Successful Year!!! And I can’t wait to share my stories with you!

Love,

Brittany

Author and The Holidays

Who else is looking forward to the Holidays!? I know I am! I can’t wait to create the magic for my kids and to have some down time where we get to relax (well, I won’t be relaxing). I do hope to get some editing, A LOT of editing, done during the Holidays because I’ll have some extra days off of work. But, I’m still a Mom so I’m hopeful but not going to let it get to me if it doesn’t happen.

We don’t have any huge plans, just staying home. Which as you know is nice. The only thing I’m not truly looking forward to is having family over. I know that doesn’t sound so nice, but I want this Holiday season to just be the four of us. I mean having that for one year isn’t so much to ask for, but it’s not going to happen. And that’s fine, that stress I know is always there for a day. Growing up we didn’t have extended family over for the Holidays because they live in a different country so it was just us, so that’s what I’m used to and what I loved most about the Holidays. Now, it’s just taken a bit of the magic out of it, for me personally, because I have to entertain when I just want to get down on the floor and play with my kids.

This is probably a very unpopular opinion as some would say, but hey… I am who I am!

The Editing Process

As I am heavily into editing my next book, Hollywood Psycho: The Luke Townsend Story, I am left wondering how long it will take me this time. Since I wrote the first book, on and off, over a period of some odd years I have no idea how long it will take me to edit this one. Granted I am more focused on and know what goes into it more than the last time, my personal time is now limited.

I don’t remember how many rounds of self-edits I did for HPTJSS before I gave it to my incredible editor. I do, however, feel like I have a keener eye to detail and adding those extra details this time around. I have a tentative month in mind for release. So, really, it’s all up to me and pushing myself to make my goals! And you know what!? I’m going to make it happen!

A Glimpse at Book 2

Hollywood Psycho is a trilogy. Each book has a different cast of characters. A different, yet similar, crime. But the one thing they all have in common… Hollywood.

In the second book, Hollywood Psycho: The Luke Townsend Story, we meet, Luke Townsend. A beautiful, young socialite who jet-sets all over the world partying and getting her face plastered on every tabloid. But Luke isn’t who her public persona portrays. Luke wants more out of life. She longs for the a comfort, a love, she once experienced and lost.

When she starts to notice a handsome stranger staring at her, Luke becomes intrigued. But of course, she is Luke Townsend… She doesn’t chase after men, they chase after her. So, she leaves the handsome stranger as an afterthought of a lost night partying. But then she see’s him again. And again…and again… always doing the one thing that intrigued her, staring directly at her. After a few weeks, she see’s him again at a Polo Match she is attending with her friends and finally bumps into the man she hasn’t been able to stop thinking about.

Instantly, Luke falls for the handsome, charming, Mitch Bellamy. But her parents and friends are not so keen to the new love interest in her life.

Luke can’t see what her loved ones warn her about and continues to pursue a relationship with Mitch.

But when Luke finds out who Mitch Bellamy really is… the life she once knew, and the people in it, are lost forever.

Luke’s story is coming Spring 2024.

Check out Julie’s story in, Hollywood Psycho: The Julie Simon Story, available now on Amazon, Barnesandnoble.com, Apple Books and my TikTok shop which comes signed and with book swag!

Current Projects

As this new month has entered my life, I’ve decided to let my readers know what’s in store for you all! I am currently working on Hollywood Psycho: The Luke Townsend Story. It is the second book in the Hollywood Psycho Trilogy. We meet Luke, the socialite, and ho grew up being in the public eye. One on of her many nights out partying, she notices a handsome stranger. She’s instantly attracted to the man who can’t take his eyes from her… but she’s Luke F’ing Townsend. She doesn’t chase after men, they chase after her. She keeps seeing this mysterious stranger over the course of the next few weeks and they eventually bump into one another. Luke instantly falls for this man. He’s everything she’s ever wanted. He’s handsome. He’s smart. He’s charming. He’s successful… Her parents and friends don’t feel the same toward’s her new love interest and she doesn’t get what they don’t see in him. But let’s just say… she should’ve listened…

Next we have a contemporary romance I am working on. I’ve done one round of self edits and this one entitled, The Him After You, is with alpha readers as well as Hollywood Psycho: The Luke Townsend Story. In The Him After You we meet Sam, a thirty-three-year-old woman who was about to get married to the love of her life when he dies in a motorcycle accident, leaving her distraught and having to learn how to live without him. One day she decides to move across the country and live a year of her coastal grandmother dreams in an idyllic little beach town where no one knows her name. What she didn’t expect was to meet and fall in love with the star of a popular tv show…

Hollywood After The Psycho is officially finished being written! This is the continuation of Julie’s story from Hollywood Psycho: The Julie Simon Story. I am currently typing it to a document on my laptop as I hand wrote it in-between calls at work this summer! #1 Employee!!!! They don’t know that a Best Selling (fingers crossed) author is writing her career away when I’m there. Shhh, don’t tell…

I also have the third installment to the Hollywood Psycho Trilogy partially written. It wasn’t flowing properly so I have it a rest. But!!!! I’ve had an epiphany and think I’ve figured it out! So the writing on that one will commence again soon!!!!

Stay Tuned…

Hollywood Psycho: The Trilogy

When I first started writing Hollywood Psycho: The Julie Simon Story, it was one book solely entitled, Hollywood Psycho. My husband said the title wasn’t strong enough so I pondered and pondered and pondered and pondered… I then added The Julie Simon Story and it felt right. It felt complete.

I had Luke’s story in my head for years, while I was working on Julie’s. It was going to be its own thing, separate from Julie’s. But when it came time to figure out a title, it hit me… Hollywood Psycho should be a Trilogy. That’s when Luke’s story became Hollywood Psycho: The Luke Townsend Story (2024) came to be.

The third installment will be entitled, Hollywood Psycho: The Michaela Barstowe Story and will be the most complex one to round out the trilogy.

Each book has its own set of characters, a similar, yet different, crime but they all have the same main character… Hollywood. That’s how three are connected.

I am so excited for these women to be in the spotlight as they are near and dear to my heart! They are the women I created and love as if they were my sisters! And I hope you love them as much as I do.

Hollywood Psycho: The Julie Simon Story is Available Now on Amazon (paperback and kindle), Barnesandnoble.com, Apple Books. Etc. you can also see some reviews on Goodreads and add it your TBR’s!!!! I am very proud of this story and I hope you enjoy the wild ride Julie goes on in this story!

I Wonder…

In August my family and I drove around LA dropping some of the misprinted copies of my book off at Little Free Libraries. The copies had covers that were shifted in printing, leaving some of the from image on the spine. Inside of each copy I wrote, “The cover of this book may not be perfect, but You Are!!!” and I signed it!

I am now left to wonder if anyone has picked up one of the copies. I’d love to know, actually. Well, I’m very curious. I guess it will be something left to the unknown…

If someone has picked it up and read it, I hope they enjoy it! And come on!!!! Look at her… She’s Beautiful!!!!

Life Update

August was not the most fun of a month… For some reason I felt more overwhelmed than I usually make myself. Anyways… I got a simple little planner that basically just has the month and then a page to list my top priorities, goals etc. I call it my Author Accountability Planner. It has helped…Majorly! I’ve put myself ahead of my tentative schedule and I love it.

Next up… we have been on a roll with watching such great television. We’ve been on an Apple TV run and here are some highly recommended shows: Hijack, Platonic and High Desert. These are just the ones we have watched recently. I have others from Apple that I can recommend too!

My kids started school in August. My son started preschool and my daughter started TK. Big moves over at The Roth manor. Both kids acclimated very well which was really nice on my Mommy Heart!!!

I am going to make another post specifically on the projects I am currently working on. But!!!! Self Editing (Round 3) is almost finished and writing the continuation for Hollywood Psycho: The Julie Simon Story is coming along very nicely!

I think that’s pretty much it! Just enjoying life and all of the ups and downs that come along with it!
