The Glass Dagger Is Out Today!
I can’t believe I’m writing the words, “My book is out today”. These last seven months have been a whirlwind. I’ve spent the last eight years working on this book through so many stages of my life and now we’ve reached this moment. At the start of 2023, I wasn’t even planning on self-publishing. I had thought out it for a long time, done research (both traditional and self-published), and to be honest, I couldn’t decide.
I started working on what was then called Ashes, after writing a short story for college where Cinderella had to save the prince. At the time, she wasn't an assassin, simply a girl trying to save the prince. Nor was it a fantasy story. It was actually a sci-fi. For years, I wanted to get my book published on the traditional route for a long time.
Then, I went to my friend’s writing retreat. I got to write for just a day, but spending time with three other self-published authors and picking their brains helped me decide that self-publishing was the route for me. That was back in February and now here we are, October 17th, with a fully published book.
To say it’s been a chaotic, educational, inspiring experience is an understatement.
But I wouldn’t have it any other way. I wouldn’t even get rid of the burnout, anxiety, and imposter syndrome I’ve been feeling. Okay, I might get rid of at least ONE of them. All three at once has been…fun…to say the least. And I’m working on them, so please don’t worry.
But all of that aside, I am proud of the accomplishments I’ve had while getting this book completed. I could go on forever about this, but for now, I’m going to end it here.
The Glass Dagger is out! It’s available to order. People are going to be reading it!
If you ever want to talk about my book with me, please don’t hesitate! I love talking about it, especially with readers. You can message me here, or through my Instagram.
Happy Reading!
