God's Plan for the Family Author response
Many years ago I was in the teacher's dining room having lunch. A young lady doing her student teaching sat down across the table from me, and exclaimed excitedly, "I just amaze myself!"
Somewhat surprised, I queried, "You do? Why?"
She replied with continuing enthusiasm, "I can talk intelligently about any subject!"
I was reminded of this incident as I read one reviewer's comment on my latest book, "God's Plan for the Family" (337 pages and at least two years of research and writing). "I did not learn anything new from reading this, . . . "

My feelings are mixed when I publish a new book. On one hand I am filled with fear and trepidation because I am exposing my thoughts to the world, and I am not sure as to how readers will react to what I have written. At the same time I feel a strong sense of exhilaration and expectation when, as Will Durant stated in the introduction to one of his books, I launch my book onto the seas of ink hoping that here and there it may encounter a kindred spirit.
I am now running a Goodreads giveaway on two of my books: "The Ever-Flowing River" and "The Commands of Jesus: For Meditation and Discussion". You are invited to participate.
I have a question with regard to each.
For the former: how would you finish this sentence--Life is like . . .
For the latter: how many of Jesus' commands can you give without looking them up in the "Bible"?
Thanks. I look forward to hearing from you.
