Author Daniel B. Martin's unique work creates deep character driven contemporary literary/ philosophical fiction.

Martin is an American author who currently resides in the Netherlands.
Martin’s literary themes focus upon the ever-changing relationships between human beings and their environments. His love for and connection with nature is deeply linked to his philosophy of human stewardship of the planet. He is fascinated by plants and animals, gardening, hiking, camping, waterfall chasing and anything involving the great outdoors.

A man of many hats and a global resident: he grew up in Southern California, although throughout his adult life he has lived on the Hawaiian islands of Oahu and Maui, in France and in the Netherlands. He holds a B

It is a collection of short stories that find thematic congruity around a critique of modernity and the concept of uncomfortable truths about modern life and the disconnection that individuals feel from nature, themselves and their connection with others.

I am working on two novels as well that will be published in the near future.
One is a work of fiction that is also laden with inspiration from its many autobiographical components. Overall it deals with the institutionalization of the utterance "No." and its secondary concept focuses upon the education of human beings. To tie these two themes together it approaches an evaluation of a dichotomy involving fact based forms of 'knowledge' vs. a learning based approach to knowledge.

The other is about a man who did all he could in life to check the boxes and become the 'man' that he believed society wanted him to be, but after he looses his wife and love of his life how his growing discontent affects him, his children and grandchildren comes to light. (less)

A Book Blogger Highlight: Kenchi Reads

What makes book bloggers tick? Book bloggers often interview authors for spotlights. I wanted the book blogger to have the opportunity to be interviewed - for once.

In this article, I have a chat with a book blogger and bookstagrammer: Kenchi of Kenchi Reads ( https://kenchireads.wordpress.com/ ).

Another epic exploration of the value of human life and the difference of indifference.

I think first of the Jesus trilogy aside, this performs a lot of the same argument but in a more condensed, natural, and digestible way.

Albert Camus

Charles Bukowski
“The problem was you had to keep choosing between one evil or another, and no matter what you chose, they sliced a little bit more off you, until there was nothing left. At the age of 25 most people were finished. A whole god-damned nation of assholes driving automobiles, eating, having babies, doing everything in the worst way possible, like voting for the presidential candidates who reminded them most of themselves. I had no interests. I had no interest in anything. I had no idea how I was going to escape. At least the others had some taste for life. They seemed to understand something that I didn't understand. Maybe I was lacking. It was possible. I often felt inferior. I just wanted to get away from them. But there was no place to go.”
Charles Bukowski
