Coming soon to Kickstarter - The Fairy Tale Fiasco by Jason C. Joyner!

One of my favorite authors - Jason C. Joyner - has set off on a NEW writing adventure - YA urban fantasy with a fairytale twist! The story is called The Fairy Tale Fiasco AND it's coming to Kickstarter SOON with ebook, paperback, and a fancy hardcover edition!

Here's a bit about the story:

Welcome to Bayview, the setting for 🧚The Fairy Tale Fiasco🧚‍♀️.

Meet seventeen year-old twins Tara and Tia Ingram. Tara is a fantasy book-loving nerd, who's either reading or hanging out with her D&D group. Her sister Tia is an outgoing, sporty girl starring on the soccer field. Their supposed twin bond has been on the fritz for a while.

Tara views everything through the lens of her fantasy stories. When she finds a rare volume while volunteering at the library, the passage she reads sends magical ripples through her.

That night, after a fight with her sister, Tara wishes that Tia could be a loyal companion, like Tinkerbell is to Peter Pan.

The next morning, Tara wakes up to an incredible discovery: Tia has pointy ears, wings, and is six-inches tall and sports a pixie attitude.

As Tara and Tia try to find a way to reverse the fairy changes, Tara's imagination creates more and more fantasy creatures. Trolls and mermaids wander the waterfront of Bayview. The worst part - Tia's transformation is evolving, and if Tara doesn't find a way to reverse the situation, her fantasies could be reality forever.

Want to stay on top of this? Like sign up to be notified when it goes LIVE and you can grab your very own copy?

*The fairy artwork for this amazing book was drawn by @alhuart! I hear she is a great artist to work with! You can see it on the campaign or on the Instagram posts the author has made about his latest story.

H.L. Burke is seeking submissions for a fun fantasy anthology!

Do you enjoy writing short stories? Fantasy? Comedy? Then I think you might want to check out the latest call for submissions from the award-winning author H.L. Burke! Below is some info pulled from her site:

Self-Help & Other Fantasies, a Magical Short Story Collection

Author H.L. Burke is putting together a new fantasy short story anthology under the Fellowship of Fantasy Banner with a theme of “Fantastical Self-Help and Self-Improvement.” This will be a collection of fictional tales that combine fantastical elements with an aspect of self-help, self-improvement, self-care, or personal discovery.

What types of stories are we looking for?

Maybe a story about a Goblin going to therapy. A Mimic starting a weight loss program. A woman who picks up a new daily affirmation not realizing it’s actually a spell. Someone taking up a new hobby that goes magically off the walls.

Potential story title examples

Time Management through Time Travel

Magical (literally) Habits

How to Declutter Your Dragon Hoard

Intrigued? Here's the website so you can take a closer look - perhaps even submit: https://www.hlburkeauthor.com/submiss...

Remember - deadline is July 31st, 2026, and to keep it PG-13 or less!
