A Distant Dream by Vivienne Dockerty.

People have often asked me why I wrote A Distant Dream. It had always been my desire to write a trilogy, a further saga about the Mayo family which began with A Woman Undefeated, based on an Irish ancestor of mine. Someone had asked me what had happened to Molly, the younger sister of Maggie who fled from the Famine in 1847 and I had to admit I didn't know.
Then one day I was meandering through the Immigration museum in Adelaide and suddenly I saw a picture of a little girl and I knew what had happened to Molly. She had been brought to South Australia and the rest, as they say, is history.
