La forja de Dios -- GOD'S FORGE available now in Spanish!

La forja de Dios by Patrick Dorsey

An exciting step for my novel -- bringing it to a non-English speaking audience with La forja de Dios, a spanish language edition of my Knights Templar thriller GOD'S FORGE.

Back in autumn, I spent some time working with Rocio, a thorough and professional translator who put an amazing effort into translating the book over the course of a few weeks. It was quite the process, as she would flag issues that struck her or email questions about phrasing in order to get not just a translation of the words but what they really mean to convey to craft a version of the story that would resonate with the Spanish-speaking audience. An informative and productive back-and-forth that's resulted in this edition of the novel! With my rusted through Spanish skills, it's a feat I could never have accomplished on my own, but one I can read and comprehend (enough) to appreciate.

Avilable now on Amazon through Bablecube, if you acquire a copy for a Spanish-languiage reader or because you just have an interest in seeing the book in another language, let me know what you think.

Friday the 13th -- Unlucky for Some

Why all the talk today about Friday the 13th and GOD'S FORGE?

The connection is the Knights Templar.

In the middle of the night on Friday, October 13, 1307 King Philip IV of France deployed his royal troops to arrest all of the Knights Templar on charges of heresy and corruption and seized all of the wealth the Order had accumulated. Centuries of building an international force that fought for Europe and protected its travelers were wiped out in a single night. The phrase "Friday the 13th -- unlucky for some" soon came into use, and some say it's the root of our modern Friday the 13th superstitions.

It's also the night whose events inspired my novel GOD'S FORGE, where in the middle of the arrests, a small band of Templars escapes the Order's Paris fortress and flees into the dark streets of the city, their mission to uncover what exactly has happened to their brethren and why, and then fight to save them all.

History and tradition tied together, and still echoing in a society half a world and seven centuries away.

Support your local book stores!

Local book stores are the places where you'll find the great surprises, the unique books and stories that haven't been run through big corporate mashing that makes so much of what comes out all seem the same.

The Book House in St. Louis was recently forced to move and the upcoming Locally Grown Literature fundraiser will support The Book House through by "celebrating the literary talent growing in our own back yard!"
