They say, “write what you know”. Well, I don’t know about exotic places or untold wealth. But I do know about people and families. And in my six years as a Willimantic resident, I’ve learned so much about this town as well as other areas of Connecticut where I’ve spent time.
Therefore, my books have taken on Willimantic as their primary location. They feature characters who live here and in some of the surrounding towns. They are mysteries, focused on strong female lead characters. Family dynamics also play important roles as the characters navigate their way through their stories.
Of course, my fascination with the Victorian houses and the mysteries they hold, are also featured along with the rich history of the town.

About the author….
So, who am I? I am Mary Arthur. I currently have two published novels on Amazon and am a featured Goodreads author. I am working on my fourth novel. You’re wondering, what about the third? Well, that’s on hold for the time being.
I am a respiratory therapist at Hospital for Special Care. In addition to my degree in respiratory care, I also have a degree in psychology. I read like crazy, make jewelry, and bake specialty breads.
I have two children. My daughter and son-in-law live in Hawaii and my son lives in Tacoma, Washington. I suppose my visits to them could turn up as “exotic locations.”
I have two cats – Murray and Frankie. And of course, I live in a purple Victorian House in Willimantic.
