A Flash of Inspiration Sent Me Hundreds of Miles to Witness an Extraordinary Event

You can’t go wrong by listening to your Inner Advisors! This year’s Kentucky Derby reminded me of the year a flash of inspiration sent me—and my college roommates—blindly traveling hundreds of miles on a “whim,” where by “pure chance” we witnessed one of the most extraordinary events in horse racing. Decades went by before I understood that the inner prompting on that cold night in Lansing, Michig Read more of this blog post »

"This short novella was a rollercoaster! It was simultaneously too short and too long for the multiple stories that were in there. I do wish it had been a little longer. Chapter 2 made me super confused with the sci-fi mumbo jumbo, but the story quick" Read more of this review »

This short novella reminded me of a cross between Douglas Adams' wit and Andy Weir's humanity (Project Hail Mary). I loved Flynn, a very likeable main character, and his adventures kept me reading and laughing. He’s an everyman in space, a coming-of- ...more

“...knowing about your past lives is worse than useless if that knowledge doesn't bring you some kind of positive change or healing.”
Lianne Downey, Speed Your Evolution: Become the Star Being You Are Meant to Be

“No matter how you arrive at the awareness and belief that you've lived before and will live again, the most lasting healing benefit will be the change in your attitude. You are creating your future lives right at this moment, and every moment of decision-making.”
Lianne Downey, Speed Your Evolution: Become the Star Being You Are Meant to Be

“Ohhhhhhh,” she groaned, jerking up from the reclining seat as the tears exploded. She felt as devastated as if she were still in the body of the grizzled fighting man. Convulsing sobs of remorse tortured her energy body and she rocked it like a baby, holding her midsection, feeling as if her stomach would turn inside out. She struggled to speak, gulping in habit for air that didn’t exist, which would have been useless to her energy lungs anyway.
She had to know.
“Who? Who…was…he?” she managed in spurts. “The boy—”
“You know the answer already, don’t you?” Coriskancsia replied gently.”
Lianne Downey, Cosmic Dancer

“Be careful about reading health books. Some fine day you'll die of a misprint.”
Markus Herz

“In a good bookroom you feel in some mysterious way that you are absorbing the wisdom contained in all the books through your skin, without even opening them.”
Mark Twain

“Substitute 'damn' every time you're inclined to write 'very;' your editor will delete it and the writing will be just as it should be.”
Mark Twain

“Wrinkles should merely indicate where the smiles have been.”
Mark Twain
