Phoenix Drake writes dark fantasy about women’s power. Her stories draw on mythology, religious history, and the anger carried by women whose voices have been buried and stolen.

She’s the author of the In the Beginning series, Jezebel, and Salt-Born. Her female protagonists make choices readers may argue about long after the final page.

An American living in Italy, Phoenix writes for readers who become fiercely protective of characters, pick sides over their relationships, and finish a book needing to talk about what happened.

I was whimpering 'poor, poor, Jezebel,' in the beginning, but by the end I was punching the air screaming, 'go Jezebel, go!' If you love gritty s" Read more of this review »
