I'll be reading from The Brubury Tales at Moorpark College on October 19 at 5:30 pm

October 19:
Featured Reader: Frank Mundo's The Brubury Tales is a modern version of The Canterbury Tales in Los Angeles just after the riots. In the book, seven security guards on the graveyard shift swap tales in an impromptu competition for vacation time.

Interview with LA Public Library

I was interviewed today by the Los Angeles Public Library in Cyprus Park. They invited me to read from my first book The Brubury Tales for their “Music Behind the Words” Open-Mic program in March. Very exciting. I'll post the interview when it's up and more info about the event.

Frank Mundo at Chula Vista Public Library in San Diego

Friends in San Diego: I'm one of the featured writers at the HISPANIC LITERACY DAY event at the South Chula Vista Public Library this Saturday, September 15 in Chula Vista. Perfect for the whole family, the free event features 25+ authors, illustrators, speakers, panelists, cultural performances and readings from Noon to 5pm. I'll be reading from my books in the "Readings YA Room" at 1 pm and, from 2 to 3 pm, I'll on a poetry panel (moderated by Thelma Reyna) with Sonia Gutiérrez, Yago Cura, and Caroline Gerardo in "Conference Room 2". Throughout the day I'll be at Table #15 in the Exhibition Hall, so stop by and say hi.

National Hispanic Heritage Month is from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15. This month celebrates the history, cultures and contributions of Hispanic Americans.

It also recognizes the anniversary of independence for five Latin American countries: Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua.

Finalist for SHINE's "Best Of" Edition

Pretty cool. My essay, "Marriage Before, During and After a Heart Attack" is a finalist for SHINE's storytelling "Best of" Edition.

I'll be reading it at the YWCA in Santa Monica in February, along with the other finalist. Sounds like fun.

I'll post the event info once it's officially booked.

In the meantime, it's posted here if you want to read it -->
