Four New Poems for National Poetry Month
If you have a minute, check out four of my latest poems called senryu, a Japanese form of short poetry similar to haiku in construction (except the focus is on human nature instead of nature like Haiku): three lines with 17 or fewer total morae.
Not my usual style of poetry, these poems were written for National Poetry Month as a challenge to try something new (and learn something new in poetry) by me and some poet friends on Facebook. The senryu we came up with are collected here:

Check it out. The rules for senryu writing are posted on the site. It's really a lot harder than it sounds -- and a lot more fun, too. (I had a blast). And if you're inspired to write your own senryu, please share it in the comments. I would love to read them.
