“After months of rumors, inference, and horrible miscalculations, the impossible had happened. The U.S. Pacific fleet lay twisted anad burning at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean in Honolulu. Had he been wrong about Japan not taking an offensive right now? God, he had thousands of men and women to think of, and he feared in his heart that it might not turn out the way he had seen it. He felt doomed, almost paralyzed by his gross miscalculation. He determined, however, that he would not let the word out about Pearl Harbor until he could meet with his American strategists and Philippine President Manuel Quezon.”

Hi Joyce, and thank you for accepting the friend request! You certainly like many interesting quotes! Love that!
Please go to Manhardeep's site for his review of A Healing Place. His books are wonderful and he has the insight of a much more older man. I wish I could hear him speak! His website is: authormanhardeep@gmail.com
Thanks for the answer, Cel. I am now writing my fourth book. The woman is Filipina, and the man with whom she falls in love is American & they go yo Mindanao to fight the Japanese by toiling against their radio communications, railways, roads, etc. He is G2 but doesn't tell her. G2 was the grandfather of CIA. Then he gets captured by the Japanese. Haven't thought it all out. She eventually finds out he's headed for Bilibid Prison, and she is a heroine, or is she? Read the book and find out. Thanks again, Joyce Shaughnessy
I hope someone will contact me who actually has lived in the Philippines. I love your culture and your sense of self. I have a good friend in Cebu City. I would love to see the Philippines now that I have written two books on the subject and about to write a third. Please comment! Joyce Shaughnessy, author
