Ricardo was born and raised in Caguas, P.R., where he recieved a B.A. from the University of Puerto Rico, making the Dean's List. He taught Chinese martial arts (Kung Fu) for many years in college and his private school. In the state of Florida, where he lives now, he taught Spanish to high school students for nearly a decade as an I.B. teacher.

After publishing his first title in the fantasy genre, DRAGONS: The Essential Ties, he received the prestigious Julia De Burgos Award for his early success as a new Hispanic author.

So far, he has published the first two titles of his fantasy/adventure novel, DRAGONS, which he intends to make into a seven book series. These titles include:

There is an audience for every single story and topic out there, but they won't find you unless you publish.

Before finishing my first book, I kept asking a few of my friends, who were fans of fantasy and dragons -what my books are about- if they liked my story so far. They could have answered my repetitive question, but instead, they said what I really needed to hear, "Just finish the book!". It was my insecurity what kept me going back to bother them once and again with the same question. But they were right; the judge (the readers) was out there, waiting for my book to get published so they could read it and enjoy it.

It doesn't matter how strange or different your story might be, there are people who are going to hate it, as well as an entire audience out there waiting to get their hands on it, devour it, and love it; you just need to get it published. So, write without fear.(less)

Ricardo Chévere I am currently working on two main things: I'm writing the third book of my series, "DRAGONS: The Dragon Spirit", which I hope to publish before the e…moreI am currently working on two main things: I'm writing the third book of my series, "DRAGONS: The Dragon Spirit", which I hope to publish before the end of this year (2015), but I'm also enriching the general outline of the story with plenty of details. I'm the kind of author who needs to outline the story before I begin to write it, and with such a long storyline like mine (seven books planned so far), the first outline I drafted was very general. Now, I'm inserting a whole lot of details into the main outline to make my writing smoother and faster; I don't have to stop writing to decide anything if it's already outlined.(less)
