Writing about Grange was fun. Writing about all the heroes and characters who have come to life in my stories has been fun! But Alec has a special place in my heart because he was the first character who inspired me to discover his story, and so I've decided to take a step back, and develop the story of his further adventures.

The writing has begun. There's not enough to even have a working title yet, but I have a sense of the general direction the story is going to move in. It's a wide landscape. Already, there are travels across the continent, from the Dominion to the Avonellene Empire, and a lacerta who is a major character.

Stay tuned - I expect to be ready to publish this new work in May or June, and perhaps publish a second novel this year as well.

With the publication last month of "The Cloud of Darkness" I've written about the adventures of Alec in the Dominion for the first time in several years. Technically, parts of the book are set in the Avonellene Empire and the land of the Twenty Cities, but the heart of the stories about Alec remains in the Dominion. I found that I had to do a fair amount of research to recollect names and details about places visited in the past, and I hope that readers will enjoy the returns in the short novel that takes us back to Alec. The plot line is a fairly simple one, and this series will only be a two book addition to Alec's life story, and then it will be on to something new. The writing has been slow this year due to many distractions - wonderful and positive events, but distractions from the time I could spend writing. Nonetheless, look for the second book to be published before the end of the year to close out this plot line.

Thank you to the readers who have picked up the recently published new volume in the Ingenairii Series. Book 11, "The Cloud of Darkness", is the first of two volumes this year that extend the story of Alec. This short extension of the series will wrap up with the book that I'm currently writing, "The Past Revisited". The story for this new book is about one third written, and should be released in November. It's been a fun plot with a great deal of time traveling involved, and some old friends seen once again.
