5 Star Review of Execution of Justice

This is an excellent book about murder, abuse, and survival. The characters are interesting and well developed. The plot is believable.

The author writes a very fast paced tale of intrigue, human trafficking, murder, and family growth.
While somewhat exaggerated, the story is well written and keeps the reader involved in the tale.

Fast paced and a little irrational at times but overall an enjoyable read. Good plotting and character development kept my interest. Action reminded me a little of Rambo, which movies I also enjoyed. A high four star or low five star.

The writer has done a great job of bring the reader into worlds probably never encountered before. The life of high school sports heroes, Southern decadence with the expected graft and corruption, boot camp at Fort Benning and even Ranger School followed by really gripping combat. What a great read.

A well planned and executed book. The dialogue was well written and made the book more believable. I can understand why it has so many reviews.

Black ops books are not a new concept, in fact there a lot of them out there so to actually find one that is well written and enjoyable is a treat. The story is a simple one but blend into that the personal issues of Drake and you have a story that kept me hooked.
The story was fast paced and entertaining. The descriptions of the locations made you feel the book as well as read it.
A brilliant read.

This is an action-packed thriller centred around themes of white slavery, 1970s middle-eastern politics, military undercover operations, crime, psychological damage and revenge. It is very fast paced, fast enough to be an action-packed blockbuster film without the book-gutting re-write. The writing is immediate, easy, generally well composed and professionally edited. And boy, is it both far-fetched and time-evaporating exciting. Yes, this is very much a ‘boys with guns’ action book, ably supported by a couple of powerful female characters that almost make it to being main-characters. John Drake fights two major protagonists, the first being a cruel and dominating father and the other the classic man of evil, as close to the devil that Homo sapiens gens can conjure.
The plot is clever enough, though the quickly obtained Rambo skills of the ‘good guys’ team are certainly implausible. Some of the violence is very graphic, so be warned, but no worse than one seen in over 18 category action films. The written words bite depends, as it always does, on the pictures the reader chooses to visualise. At least it is easier to tune out of graphic detail in a book than while watching a film.
I really enjoyed this book, which delivers exactly what the hype suggests it should. One just has to suspend belief a touch or two. The hard men are hardly slowed by broken ribs or ruptured ligaments, and have powerful enough auras to keep away a storm of bullets. Fortunately, in the end, the baddies are all a touch weaker than the ‘better guys’. Some may also doubt the plausibility of certain actions sanctioned by ‘friendly’ political and military forces. However, on that score, my view is that Dent is entirely accurate. It isn’t only one’s enemies that are expendable even in are major democracies. There is only one plot aspect I thought didn’t fit, that concerns the behaviour of John senior mid-way through the book. I won’t risk a spoiler other than by adding that devious and life-risking manipulation of the son by the father became rather incredulous.
This is a great week-end read. Thriller writing done well.

During the end of the Viet Nam War, countries are struggling for supreme power through any avenue available to them. Patrick Dent gives us ambitious agents also ready to make sacrifice through the lives of soldiers for their careers.
Men such as Tartus, was the scum that tarnished the reputation of Arabs all over the world. With the backing of the US training, Elan was determined to bring this dangerous merchant to justice, but he was just one of multiple elite that had fallen. Amin then plays the same game, using the same contact, Falon, ending with the same results. Running out of operatives, the CIA decides to go with a new tactic and a wild card agent, John Drake.
CIA Special Agent Fulton does not have access to the only man who can stop the oil war, so he decides to become Fahr. By starting a war among the controlling oil heads he can predict the US stepping in to take control, this was Project Crossfire.
Now enters John Drake Jr., one fatal accident changed his future and the destiny of millions. When he caused the death of an opposing team mate, his dreams of college and his father’s dream of professional baseball were destroyed. But through his father John is sentenced to the Army for six years to serve out his sentence of involuntary manslaughter. With a cause John finds he can calmly kill a man, which is just what he was given. John’s actions have not been that of a warrior, but of a beast that was unleashed. John wrestled with the demons, but now he has let them go.

Execution of Justice: Covert Ops Military Assassination Thriller follows John Drake, a young pacifist who grew up with an abusive father, on 2 journeys. These journeys overlap in a way that makes the reader feel for the young man.
John had to undergo quite a large transformation in order to become the man he needed to become. I don’t want to give away any spoilers but I will say that I loved the way that Johns personal and professional journeys overlapped to help hom grow into a strong and confident young man. I hope I get to read more about the world of John Drake soon.
