Respite, Anyone?
A Word in Time to the rescue! If you need a respite from our overwhelming world issues, those are the books I've featured for your TBR.
I had planned choosing books of people taking their own time out from everyday life. Some of the books celebrate this form of respite while other titles will focus on simply getting away.
One of my favorite picks on this week's list is Enchanted April. If you have never met this book, it's time! The book is whimsical and beautiful and will restore your spirits.
Ten more choices await you. And once you've looked those over, cruise the archives. You might as well make lists for library and book store visits all in one fabulous stop.

Fall Blog Up!
A Word in Time re-enters the world just in time for fall break. How about some reading about prison life? I have culled out my favorites like The Green Mile and Sleep Towards Heaven (BEST ever!) to offer other less well-known books on this topic. I take that back. Dead Man Walking is well known, but a great read often overlooked for the film.
When She Woke, Escape from Camp 14, and more.

The kids are back to school. Does that open up more reading time or close it down?
Regardless, I have made SCHOOL this week's A Word in Time. Find 11 new books/reads for your TBR centered on the word school.
Sittenfield, Mitchard, Walt Whitman! Delderfield, Stephen King, John Nichols, Lillian Hellman.
Drop on by.
And if school isn't your reading preference, go to the archives and choose a different word for your reading escape. I feel confident you will enjoy the browsing!

Home is . . .
A Word in Time was a tough one this week because the word I chose was HOME. I have too many favorite books that look at home. Winnowing the list was painful.
Here are some of the choices: Jane Hamilton, Jane Smiley, James Joyce, Thomas Wolfe, and William Carlos Williams.
Klebold, DeMaio, Lippman, and HOMER!
Please drop by to enjoy the suggestions for your TBR.

Art Talks
A Word in Time, my book blurbs web site, assesses titles for your TBR. Each week I choose a thematic word and concentrate on finding books I have enjoyed to suggest to all of my reading friends.
This week I have reprised art and artists, though I have gone in some different directions in some categories. Take a look for some of the following: Chaim Potok, Susan Vreeland, Lynda Barry, Oscar Wilde, R.S. Thomas. There are even more on the web site.
The archives is also updated so that you can find words topically alphabetized and the pages clickable.
Miracles never cease.

Catch a Wave!
New readings for your TBR are posted on A Word in Time.
All of these books connect to the sea.
Before you say "Moby Dick," let me assure you that I have found both classics such as the much-loved Melville and newer titles as well.
Jack London and Joseph Conrad add to the serious reading lists (please don't pre-judge either author until you have read my blurbs for them) as well as John Masefield, that sea-faring poet, and the opera Billy Budd.
Move on into more modern writers with Kerry Kletter's unforgettable novel about mothers and daughters. Surf's up with wave books: Ghost Wave, The Black Wave, and OMG! Close to Shore (the first Jaws story).
Historical fiction carries a lot of sea yarns, so I picked the unforgettable Ahab's Wife.
Come to visit: http://www.eileengranfors.com for A Word in Time, with a new link to archival posts. The drop-down affords you the luxury of guessing what might be the connection between the titles before you click!
