New Novel: Theo the Street Kid and the Extraordinary Competition

A Warning to the Faint of Heart

This story is not for the faint of heart.
This story is not your average innocent story where it’s nothing but rainbows and sunshine.
This is also not a children’s story; that is, this is not a story written for children, although it features a teenage street kid as a main character.
It contains mature subject matters and graphic scenes that are unsuitable for children.
This is a young adult novel that deals with the grittiness of life in a fictional developing nation.
If you still insist on reading it to children, then please don’t say I didn’t warn you.
Because this is probably the most wretched story you’ve ever read.
This story contains all sorts of nasty and unsavoury characters, people such as thieves and gangsters, drug dealers and prostitutes, corrupt politicians and hypocritical monks.
The situations contained within this story are often dark, gritty, cruel, gruesome, somber, depressing and downright heartbreaking.
No attempts will be made to sugarcoat the truth.
You will be told the whole truth.
Because that’s life.
Life can be tough and brutal and savage.
It’s a dog-eat-dog world, especially in a poor country like the Kingdom of Egalisia.
But in the amidst of all the poverty and misery are also hope and love.
Hope and love reside firmly in the heart our spunky hero, Theo.
This is the story of how a down-on-his-luck orphan boy living in a poor country tried desperately to climb out of his miserable circumstances.
It’s the story of relentless struggle against overwhelming odds.
It’s the story of how good reaps good and evil reaps evil.
It’s the story of how the enduring tenacity of a mother’s love can inspire.
A poor orphan told me this story when I visited the enchanting capital city of Lotus Hill, a contradictory city of opulent palaces and squalid slums.
Our story begins on a dark humid night in the middle of the rainy monsoon season.
Two street boys are locked in a life-or-death battle by the enormous Mountain of Garbage.
Let’s see what happens next….

An Echo Through Time

I'm very proud to introduce An Echo Through Time to my readers. It's a love story about this couple who gets together in 5 different lifetimes on Earth and beyond. It addresses themes of pre-destination, whether love can last for an eternity regardless of death and reincarnation.

It's been a long time coming. My collaborator and I wrote this gem of a novel two years ago, but unfortunately, our skill level wasn't high enough to execute the idea. Thus, this is actually our second attempt to convey the beauty of this concept of reincarnated love.

This time around, I'm very confident that we conveyed our epic concept in a touching and profound way. I hope you enjoy this epic love story.

From the synopsis:

There are three major events that take place in everyone's life: we are
born, we love and we die. This happens in every lifetime and it's
necessary in order for life to mean anything.
In the middle, there is love.
Without love, there is no meaning.

This is a love story that transcends race, gender, culture, religion.
This is a love story about undying and eternal love.
This is a love story about two souls that criss-cross each other's many lifetimes: alpha and centauri.

A
love story spanning five lifetimes, An Echo Through Time explores the
eternal nature of love, reincarnation, love at first sight and fate.

Lesson: Oswald the Lucky Rabbit V. Mickey Mouse

Ever heard of Oswald the Lucky Rabbit? It was my idol Walt Disney's first successful cartoon character, but some unscrupulous distributor stole it from him. But did Walt get angry and revengeful? No! What did Walt do instead? On the train home to LA from NY, he got creative instead, and came up with a little mouse called Mickey. What do you think is the lesson here?

Do you believe in Miracles? A Miracle Happened to me! The Divine Story of How I Got the Idea for the Kid Emperor of Occultoria series!

Wanna know how I came up with the Kid Emperor of Occultoria series? Read on to find out!

I have an inspirational story that I want to share with all of you. It's my way of saying thank you for supporting me and believing in me.

Here goes! Up until just a few months ago, I had focused only on writing single titles, but I had heard that a series was a better way to get noticed. I believe the reason is that readers like to live in a unique world where they can get to know the main characters and follow them on adventures. It's like getting to know new friends and seeing them regularly so that they eventually become old friends.

Anyway, a few months ago, I wanted to write a series, but I had no idea what to write about. One day, I was sitting at home feeling frustrated because I didn't know what to write about. So, I decided to go on a midnight walk around my neighborhood, because I always did my best thinking when I was moving around - something to do with getting more oxygen and endorphins into the brain.

So I went, still feeling angry and upset. I was feeling angry and upset with God because He had given me the ability and talent and desire to write, but He hadn't given me lots of ideas. In fact, that night, I had flat run out of ideas on what to write my new series about. At the same time, my single titles hadn't really done very well on Amazon. I was gradually beginning to doubt myself - my talent (or lack of), my desire to write, and my faith in God.

Upset, I was on the verge of crying because I felt that my writing career was very slowly going nowhere.

The tears began to spill just before I reached a tiny elementary school near my house. The breath-taking sight made me pause, stop crying, and gaze at it in awe. The bright full moon shone white light onto the school's entrance, giving it a dazzling appeal. But that wasn't the most beautiful part. Farther inside, a beautifully-eerie green light was illuminating something.

As I took a step forward, I realized that the light was illuminating a vending machine. As the eerie green light danced on the glass of the vending machine, I was breathless with reverence. A sense of soothing wonder and pacifying silence fell over me.

I just stood there and stared.

The illuminated vending machine was simply beautiful. It was a sign from God. It was like God was trying to send me a message of encouragement, peace, love and hope. It was like he was telling me not to cry, because he has marvelous things in store for me.

Since I felt God was trying to talk to me, I started to reply to God.

I prayed aloud to the Lord, "Lord, if you give me an idea for a new series right here and right now, I will believe that there is a plan for this universe and for my life. I will never doubt you again."

The next part may seem hard to believe, but I swear it's the truth.

Immediately after my prayer, an idea for a new series popped into my head. I envisioned a socially-ostracized little boy named Max who finds belonging after he discovers he's the Emperor of the Supernatural World. I later decided that it had been the perfect idea, because I love cute and fuzzy Disney-esque topics and the intrigue of government and politics. Since I loved both, I asked myself, "Why not combine the two?"

So, I did.

As for that vending machine, it became the vending machine scene at the end of Chapter 1 of Book 1 of the series.

The little boy in the series, Max, is mostly inspired by a younger me. Like Max, I had never really belonged in any school, always isolated or ostracized. I wanted to write something that others could relate to.

So there you have it. Miracles do happen if you sincerely ask God for them.

Again, thanks for your support! Please feel free to share and repost if you want.

Remember: Book 1 of the Kid Emperor of Occultoria series, The Crown Prince, is still available for free on Amazon!
