Catherine Ann Jones holds a graduate degree in Depth Psychology and Archetypal Mythology from Pacifica Graduate Institute where she has also taught. After playing major roles in over fifty plays on and off-Broadway, she became disappointed by the lack of good roles for women and wrote a play, "On the Edge", about Virginia Woolf and her struggle with madness in a world gone mad, Hitler and WWII. The play won a National Endowment for the Arts Award. Thirteen of her plays, including Calamity Jane (both play and musical), "The Women of Cedar Creek", and "Freud’s Oracle", have won multiple awards and are produced both in and out of New York. Her films include "The Christmas Wife" (Jason Robards & Julie Harris), "Unlikely Angel" (Dolly Parton), a ...more

“Stories orient the life of a people through time, establishing the reality of their world. Without stories, we do not exist. They are how we discover who we are.
The aim of these stories is to serve as a kind of portal into the daily lives and emotional realities that reflect the rich depth and humanity that is India.”
Catherine Ann Jones, East & West: Stories of India

“The specifics of seekers’ and creative lives vary in details but they all usually share one thing in common. There is often from an early age a longing for the spiritual or religious life and/or for a life of meaning and purpose, which may take twists and turns before discovering their own path and giving expression to what they’ve found. Such individuals forego a historical or literal style of living and are drawn instead to a timeless creative life.”
Catherine Ann Jones, Buddha and the Dancing Girl: A Creative Life

“All journeys are a journey back to Self. I have always felt — and keenly so — that there exists something greater than one’s smaller self and that it is a privilege to be called to surrender and to serve this Force in whatever way possible. Perhaps sharing one seeker’s journey and insights gained along the way may echo and give meaning to your own. At least, that is the intention for this book.”
