L. Edward Hazelbaker's first published work was "The Pilgrim's Progress in Modern English." An allegory about the Christian pilgrimage—or journey through life—from this world to heaven, "The Pilgrim's Progress" was written By John Bunyan during his imprisonment for preaching the gospel without the permission of the Church of England. It was originally published in 1678. Hazelbaker spent five years carefully translating/updating the seventeenth century text of Bunyan's original work and completely annotating and indexing the book. "The Pilgrim's Progress in Modern English" was published by Bridge-Logos Publishers and has been one of their best selling books every year since it was released in 1998.
