Books on doormats
It is very odd to have held a story so closely and then to let it go and drop onto other peoples doormats. Suddenly the realization dawns that it will be read and opinions will be formed; tears may be shed; and connections may be made.
It has been quite challenging to imagine others having a window into the world I entered nearly 10 years ago.
The writer Maya Angelou spoke wisely though when she said "There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you."
On the school run, the supermarket dash, or as i kneel beside my patient's bed I am just a mum, another busy shopper or the doctor -My book gives me a voice that enables me to share something that otherwise would be stifled or pushed into a closet-and yet would still consume my thoughts and feelings and weigh down my soul. My justice will come if I am heard and in some small way can connect-scary though that might be.

2 days until publication!
I can hardly believe my book will be in print on shelves in just 2 days time. It is exciting and terrifying-just like a roller coaster.
I just really hope that even one reader out there feels less alone because they have read it. I have been in that place of isolation and I wrote my book so that we could stand together.
