Elizabeth Payne grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia and was graduated from Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville, New York. She worked as a reporter on the St. Petersburg (Florida) Times and Newsweek magazine, and as a reporter, feature writer, and editor on the newspaper PM. Miss Payne has two sons and is married to the novelist and playwright, Jerome Weidman. The family's interest in archaeology and history has taken them on many trips to Europe and the Near East. ...more
