Mithi Mukherjee is Associate Professor of History at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Born and raised in India, she has a Ph.D in History from the University of Chicago. She is the author of "Asianism and the Fall of Empire: India's Road to Freedom (UC Press, 2026) and "India in the Shadows of Empire: A Legal and Political History (1774-1950)" (OUP, 2010).
Professor Mukherjee researches and teaches on the legal, political, and cultural history of modern India, the British Empire, Asianism, anticolonialism and nationalism, human rights, Gandhian thought, and constitutional history. ...more
