Now in Paperback – Palmetto Princesses!
For a little while now, Palmetto Princesses has been available in ebook and audiobook formats, and I’ve been delighted to hear from folks who’ve enjoyed my middle grade novel by reading it from a screen or listening to Kimberly Buhl’s narration. But I kept hearing requests to make the book available in a print edition as well. I love the feel of a paperback book in my hands too, so I understood why people might want to enjoy my story in print.
I’ve never independently published in print before...

Robert B. Parker – Your Light Shines On
Robert B. Parker died four years ago this month. He’s still considered the Dean of American Crime Fiction and because of that there’s a good chance you’ve read one of his 70 novels. Some of his more popular series are Spenser, Jesse Stone and Sunny Randall. You’ve probably seen a movie or are a fan of a TV show based on his novels.
I’ve been a fan since my first Spenser novel. So, several years ago I heard he would be the featured speaker at a local Palm Beach book fair. I quickly signed on fo...

Ebook to Audio
When I decided to have my children’s e-book Palmetto Princesses made into an audio-book, I chose ACX (Audiobook Creation Exchange), an Amazon platform that brings together authors and narrators. Their website, acx.com , is loaded with answers to just about any question you can come up with. If something still needs clarifying their people are only an 800 number away. Yes, you get to talk with real human beings. (Thanks Frank and Andy.)
Once I uploaded word count, genre, language, a short synop...

SPARKS & The Name Game
Most writers I know need something called a working title as they write a book. Maybe it’s because a title proves there will be a book. Or in finding an acceptable title, they’ve delineated an important element within the story and that makes it a bit easier to stay on track.
Whatever the reason, sooner or later, that chosen title gets a second look. The closer to the end of the book the closer the look. This is where I’ve been recently. Taking a hard look at my working title, More Than She Kn...

How SPARKS Caught Fire
Back in the mid-90′s the editors of the old Bantam Loveswept line created something called theme months. Established Loveswept authors were given a list of theme heroes and were invited to submit a synopsis for any and all of them. Themes like Men In Uniform, Fantasy Men, and Men of Magic, to name a few. I, along with Cindy Gerard, Leanne Banks and three others had our stories chosen for Fantasy Men month. Cindy wrote about a “ghost” hero, Leanne wrote about a European prince and I wrote abou...
