What a sweet note to receive! Thank you for your kind words about Escapement. I'm so happy you enjoyed the story. I also felt sad to leave that world and was fortunate to visit it a few more times over the last year (when recording the audiobook and again filming the short book trailer). To be honest, I'd never really given a thought to writing a sequel. My next plan for the story was turning it into a feature film. The script is written, the producer found but, alas, the world is not open for large-scale creative projects right now so filming will have to wait. Meanwhile, I'll give some thought to what a sequel might look like. Thank you for planting that seed! Hoping you and yours are staying healthy and well. With warmest regards, Kristen(less)

A New Word

Do you know what a group of penguins in the water is called?

Brace yourself…

A raft.

Right?!?

Do you know what a group of penguins on land is called?

I almost can’t take it…

A waddle.

I can’t even write it and not smile.

"Enjoyed!!

The book was quiet interesting. I didn't expect the end to be like that. I loved Anna character. And Pete got his just due. The biblical interpretation was, I believe a little twisted. it did not flow easy."

“Do not demand perfection of yourself. Only mindfulness. When the way seems unclear, or difficult, you must remember. And sometimes you must remember to remember.”
Kristen Wolf, The Way: A Girl Who Dared to Rise

“whether it is the innocent or the guilty you kill, the act of destruction degrades the soul. And buries all hope.”
Kristen Wolf, The Way: A Girl Who Dared to Rise

“Do not confuse destruction with power. They are opposites. Think of this: How long does it take to crush a butterfly with a stick?” He looked about. When no one spoke he continued. “I can tell you from experience: It takes no time at all. And yet what is required to create a butterfly? Nothing short of a magical transformation—a divine shifting of blood and sinew—a miraculous act that not one of us could ever dream of achieving! When you remember it this way, you can see that the act of swatting down a butterfly is a minor and inferior act—and one of great cowardice!—in comparison to honoring and sustaining it. So it is with all life.”
Kristen Wolf, The Way: A Girl Who Dared to Rise

“The moment we begin to fear the opinions of others and hesitate to tell the truth that is in us, and from motives of policy are silent when we should speak, the divine floods of light and life no longer flow into our souls.”
Elizabeth Cady Stanton

“There is no religion without love, and people may talk as much as they like about their religion, but if it does not teach them to be good and kind to man and beast, it is all a sham - all a sham, James, and it won't stand when things come to be turned inside out and put down for what they”
