Description of the new novel

The much anticipated dog training academy is about to open, with several friends ready to gather for the celebration, when Harley Fremont and her K-9 partner, Gemma, are called away to assist in finding a couple who failed to return from their weekend trail hike.

The duo, with a search and rescue partner, track the missing couple as best they can in less-than-desirable trail conditions. When bullets fly, the search turns into something more dangerous than they’d expected.

In preparation for the multiple celebrations that week, Harley and Bill Harris had a pergola installed, in addition to eight glamping tents. The couple welcome their middle-aged friends and family for the grand opening. Along with the arriving adults are five dogs, to add to the two who live fulltime on the ranch.

A second celebration is planned a week later. Included in the preparation are a red carpet, something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue. More friends and five more dogs arrive.

Wedding stories, accidents, unraveling relationships, new friends, new neighbors, and a black-clad stranger intertwine in this story of middle-aged friendships, love, a dog training academy, and nights around the fire pit.

Newest novel update Feb

Been slow going. Not writing block so much as distractions block. I'm getting back into writing after two things, feeling ill and helpless, feeling politically ill and helpless. Time to kick off the negativity and get going.

Congrats to the winners!

Fifty people won an e-book version of Gift of Spots. Congrats to each of them!

The second novel in the Gemma's Ranch Series is underway, but going slowly. It's not writer's block slowing me down, it's a new puppy. She is a handful! I've figured out that mid-morning she needs to nap, so I'm taking advantage of that hour or so to write.

Newest novel is available!

Gift of Spots is now available on Kindle and Amazon.

Discover the charm of The Gift Of Spots! Join Harley Fremont, trainer of canines, on an adventure with her beloved Rhodesian Ridgeback, Gemma. Though Harley has left her law enforcement contract work behind, adventures and surprises follow her and Gemma to their new home. Harley, her fiancé, Bill Harris, and Gemma endeavor to create their home together, snuggled between the Santa Ynez Mountains and the Pacific Ocean in Santa Barbara. Just as it appears life is settling into a steady pace, they have adventures on trails, fires in unexpected places, a dog in trouble, another dog in trouble, and friends who are struggling. Harley and Bill work to maintain an even keel, even with the added pressure of starting a new business, including getting permits and inspections, hiring employees, and making decisions about services and advertising. The Gift of Spots is a story of joy, dreams coming to fruition, and gifts arriving from unexpected places.

New novel very soon!

Gift of Spots has gone to reviewers for their comments. In this novel, Harley Fremont and Gemma are back! Their lives have changed considerably. They no longer travel in an RV, they no longer have a Forest Service contract, and they no longer live alone. What hasn't changed is the drama. There's plenty to be found in Gift of Spots.
