“I've always been drawn to character-driven stories. People, their thoughts, motivations, and fears all become behavior. If the characters are well-developed they will create their own plot. I, the author, simply listen, watch, and record what they do. It's very entertaining. No one tells you to do this in writing workshops or classes, but It's the only way, for me, to make sure they are actually alive and not a figment of my imagination.”
