Thanks for requesting to be my friend on GoodReads, Mustafa. I learned some Arabic when I was in the Navy. I was looking at one of the books you were reading: FI AHVAN ALKTAB, or fi ahdhan alkitab if you prefer (dh for the dhadh sound). This sends me to my dictionary for ahdhan. So, is the best translation 'In the Heart of the Book', "In the Book's Bosom'? 'In the Hands of the Book' or maybe 'In the Book's Embrace'. How might you translate that title? Are you enjoying it so far?

Thanks for accepting the invite.
I would choose the embrace as the most accurate translation for Ahdaan.

It is a very good book from one of my favourite Egyptian writers. He dissects, in short separate chapters, like forty books and mentions why they were influential on him. A brilliant idea that I would love to replicate one day.
Which Arabic countries have you been to Dan? Are you based in Bangkok like myself? My debut is coming soon and would love if you are interested in the synopsis to add it to your to-read folder if you like.
Happy to be in touch!
