Born in Ohio, I grew up in Arizona. In graduate school, and during my tenure as a research scientist, I cultivated an ability to write and edit and I found that I actually enjoyed it more than anything else.
I acquired a PhD and worked as a research scientist for a number of years, but my interest in writing grew and I left science to take a job as editor-in-chief with a magazine publisher. There I learned the view of an editor, how to write to deadline, and how to pull ideas from the ether on cue. These were valuable lessons but eventually I moved, with my Quebecois wife, to Quebec City.
I’ve written hundreds of articles for various magazines and I’ve had monthly columns in several magazines. I have published some fiction, but nothing worthy ...more

I Forgot I Had A Blog

Like for many, this summer has been wild with respect to weather. All the places on the planet who are dealing with drought need to know, all your water is over here, and falling regularly. And while that has upset a lot of our summer plans, it hasn’t been the main thing that’s kept me from sketching and posting here.
