Malice Aforethought is Avree Kelly Clark’s debut novel and winner of the 2024 Eric Hoffer First Horizon Award for outstanding debut novel and Mystery/Crime category winner. Avree’s love of history, forensics, and research came together in writing this historical crime fiction she describes as Truman Capote’s In Cold Blood meets Margaret Atwood’s Alias Grace.
When she’s not writing, she’s a freelance proofreader and copy editor who enjoys reading, trivia, long walks, healthy living, and Maine vacations.
Avree is a New Hampshire native who graduated Pembroke Academy in 2005. She lives in New Hampshire with her husband of sixteen years and their cat, Aloysius.
