Simon, hi. Just saw your question. Thanks for it.

Kant might argue that it was his duty to make my verse or prose more sensible and logical, and correct my vision so that it was morally upright, even though he may not want to carry out those duties, but being Kant it's the doing of unpleasant duties that counts more on this earth and in heaven than doing something pleasurable that may also be a duty. In short, he'd be John Gardnerish as an editor. But it's possible that maybe after being resurrected some centuries after his death he'd be a little more humble and mellow.(less)

Jeff Bursey and 7 other people liked Cody's review of Moses Migrating:
Moses Migrating by Sam Selvon
"Jesus fucking Christ, the few reviews on here vary so wildly you’d think this final Moses book kerfuffle worthy. Fact: there is no kerfuffle. Downright kerfuffle-free.

It’s attenuated to the age of Selvon, and he’s not playing at repeating his young " Read more of this review »
Jeff Bursey and 13 other people liked Cody's review of Moses Ascending:
Moses Ascending by Sam Selvon
"Selvon did a neat turn with idiomatics, here, having his Moses’ language gain British-English fluency with roughly the same facility as would naturally occur in the period between books one and two. Actually, it’s a hell of a lot more than ‘neat.’ Wh" Read more of this review »
So the Wind Won't Blow It All Away by Richard Brautigan
" So the Wind Won’t Blow It all Away is such a great ending to Brautigan’s work (the third one I’ve read, what am I saying?).

This is leagues better than The Abortion and checks off many boxes of my interests. While Brautigan met his death by choice " Read more of this review »

Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad - read by millions, reviewed by thousands. Is it possible for me to come up with anything even approaching originality for this classic? I think not. Thus, I've confined myself to commenting on several select passag" Read more of this review »
