greetings from Spain
Today I'm in Spain. 'Hace mucho calor' sighed my taxi driver - not really a surprise when you live in Spain, after all it's summer....it's supposed to be hot here!
I'm trying to find time (and the opportunity) to start a last edit of the next sequel - but.... it's hot :)
Soon I'll be on holidays - best time to delve back into the 17th century and meet my heroes again - looking very much forward to it!
hope you look forward to reading the next book too!
cheers

A good recipe to combat November blues, drink a glass of red wine and write a new book :)

Back to the 17th century
After finishing my crime story 'Death on Turtle Island'- it's back to the 17th century.
I started a new book, not really a sequel of the French Orphan, but we'll meet the major protagonists once again.
François de Toucy, Pierre and Armand are bound to England and end up in the complications of the English Civil War - trying to save the queen of England. Not an easy task at all as they have to deal with queen who doesn't want to be saved....

back to the past
Busy doing research on the English civil war and half way through my new book. It's quite a challenge to fit the flow of the story into a given historical background.
Quite fascinating to discover how a newcomer like Oliver Cromwell finally ascended to power, a bit like Putin today he worked his way up through society until he had created his own base of power and then took over.
Lots of lessons to learn from history....

Strange things happen
Recently I started a book on Queen Henrietta Maria (the Queen consort of King Charles II) and the more I advanced in my research.... the more I disliked her! Tough like a mule, stubborn, prejudiced and a religious fundamentalist of the worst sort.... a nightmare.
Now, a disciplined writer with a fat contract from an established publishing house would just have toiled on, but as an indie author I have my freedom!!!!
I stopped for almost half a year, then suddenly a new character came to my mind, Her Majesty's maid of honour.... and here we go.
Now busily typing :)
hoping to published by the end of the year
