Jason Mayo is the founder of Sober Not Subtle, a storytelling and advocacy platform breaking the stigma around addiction, recovery, and mental health. A Certified Recovery Peer Advocate, he serves as a community outreach coordinator at a local recovery center, where he leads dads’ groups, brings recovery meetings into the county jail, and speaks at schools to share his lived experience.

Before entering the recovery field, Jason spent years in New York City running award-winning visual effects and animation companies, partnering with some of the world’s top brands. He also gained national recognition as the voice behind the parenting blog Out-Numbered, named one of BlogHer’s Top 100 Voices of the Year and Working Mother’s “25 Dads Who Rock.”
