Shooting The Seal
Shooting the SEAL by Leslie NorthMy rating: 4 of 5 stars
I generally don't like to read series that have cliffhangers but I'm glad I made this exception. Ms North has spun a delicious tale involving a team of navy seals, a photographer and a publishing house. The story has a great plot that began with one of the seal team's members getting killed. Enter our hero, Gage, who's hot enough to pass for a cover model at the publishing house. Though Gage is really a member of the seals. The photographer is our heroine, Anna.
The action starts here and does not let up. This is hot, romantic suspense at it's best. But for a very few editorial mistakes, this read is five stars.

Holding You
Holding You by Jewel E. AnnMy rating: 3 of 5 stars
As every other reader has said, this is a beautiful story and Ms. Ann is a wonderful new talent who I will definitely be looking out for. That being said, I give Holding You 3 stars. I could easily have rated this book 5 stars, but...I did not like the 'extra curricular sex between Quinn and his other woman.' True, Addie said she only wanted sex, but she did not mean that. It was fear that made her reluctant to call what they had a relationship. But Quinn who claimed to really be into Addie was off in his hometown (New York) with another woman living in his apartment, marking his back with her nails for Addie to see.
My feeling is if Quinn wanted so much more from Addie than just sex, he had a really lousy way of showing it. And the man that could say this to her, "Don't you get it? I'd lay the fucking world at your feet if you just asked me! But not you, Addy, you just want sex with no strings attached," would not be climbing in bed with anyone else.
And lastly, I Hate fucking cliffhangers!

The King
The King by J.R. WardMy rating: 5 of 5 stars
OMG!!! How the hell does Ward follow this book? The King was amazing as Ms. Ward showed her brilliance as an author. The Black Dagger Brotherhood series began with Wrath and it should end now. All of the brothers have a happy ever after and with Wrath and Beth secure and ecstatic with a little Wrath (perhaps a future King), what more can be said. But for some strange happenings with Darius, oops, I mean John Matthew. There was little mention of the brothers in this book, it mostly had side stories of the shadows (Trez and iAm) and the drug king, Assail and his Sola. While interesting, these are not brothers and their stories should begin a new series of their own. That being said, The King left me with tears in my eyes and an all around feeling of, 'That's how a story is supposed to be'. 5 fucking stars! You feel me?

Need You Tonight
Need You Tonight by Roni LorenMy rating: 5 of 5 stars
Not really a big fan of BDSM but this book rocked! Kade was a dirty talking, sexy Dom who's also a Masochist and his lady love, Tessa who just happened to be his high school crush was all over that. These two scorched the pages of this novel. Ms. Loren, my hat's off to you, girl, you sure can write kink. Break out the fan for this one! I've got a new fav author. Can't wait to go back and read the previous 4 titles of the Loving on the edge series!

Wallbanger
Wallbanger by Alice ClaytonMy rating: 1 of 5 stars
Total disappointment to me. What the hell did I just read? Ms. Clayton's writing is confusing, often rambling totally off the subject. In my mind, an author needs great talent to pull off that whole inner dialog thing with her characters. But this story was as disorganized as 'Nightie Girls' thoughts. While Ms. Clayton does provide some humorous moments, they are not enough to save this mess. There's very little romance going on between our hero (wallbanger) and our heroine (nightie girl) until the very end. And the only wallbanging going on was between the hero and his three, yes 3 other women. Notice I keep calling them by those silly nicknames, well that's because I didn't care enough about these characters to even remember their names.

Come Away With Me
Come Away With Me by Kristen ProbyMy rating: 4 of 5 stars
Nice start to the With Me in Seattle series. I adored the down to earth Luke, who wasn't at all spoiled by his wealth and fame. Natalie, the heroine of the story was a little nerve wracking at times with her stupid internal dialog and at times, childish behavior. But overall the story works. Jules and Nate's story is up next and I think it'll be gratifying to see how these two overcome their obstacles after the hot and steamy night they shared, which sent Jules running away while Nate slept. Hmmm...

Wrong bed, Right Guy
Wrong Bed, Right Guy by Katee RobertMy rating: 4 of 5 stars
I really enjoyed this story. It was hilarious in spots while being sensuous in others. The steam both in and out of bed between Gabe and Elle burns up the pages. The plot felt fresh to me even though I'm sure someone else had the same idea at one time or another. Ms. Robert just did it better! There were a few grammatical errors, nothing major though, that kept me from rating Wrong Bed, Right Guy a full 5 Star rating. I highly recommend it. ENJOY!!!

The Young and the Submissive
The Young And The Submissive by Shayla BlackMy rating: 2 of 5 stars
This was okay but...I'm really fed up with multi partnered relationships. I don't buy that these three people will ever be able to maintain a relationship where they are sharing this supposedly submissive woman. Raine doesn't strike me as being truly submissive, she's too damaged and does not strike me as a woman willing to give up her power to any man, after the abuse heaped upon her by her father. And the manipulation by Liam with Raine was beyond low. (view spoiler)[Making sure Hammer is out of town before collaring Raine in book 1, just took the cake. And what kind of friend screws his best friend's woman the first chance he gets. Even though Hammer wouldn't claim her, Liam knew Hammer loved her. He should have backed off. (hide spoiler)] I don't feel the love Liam claims to have for her at all. It seems that he just wants her because Hammer does. I have equal issues with Hammer and Raine as well which is why I really am not enjoying this series. I would like to see Shayla get back to writing her own books. The Menage and Doms series in which she co writes are all reading like the same book.

Hindsight
Hindsight by Eleanor DineenMy rating: 2 of 5 stars
I was all set to give this book a 4 star rating and then I got to what was supposed to be the end, and...TO BE CONTINUED! Oooh I hate serial books!!!!!!!! I felt robbed of a happy ending. I could and did look over the misspelled words, the bad grammar and all around poor editing because I liked the story. The hero (Brad Fortune), I had problems with even though I understood he had issues just like our heroine, Adelaide. If you read this story you'll understand. Eleanor Dineen will be a good writer if she finds herself an editor who won't let those avoidable mistakes show up in the finished product. Eleanor, I enjoyed your story but you have fallen into the current trend of keeping a reader anticipating what comes next. But some of us like to find fulfillment between the covers of a book. A beginning, a middle and an end. That defines a story to me. I'm not sure what these authors are thinking, or is it just greed. Okay, I'm through venting. Suffice it to say, I will not be reading another book about Brad and Adelaide. I just will not support the trend of serial books.
