Melissa R. Mendelson is a horror, science-fiction and dystopian author and poet. She has two publications with Wild Ink Publishing. One is a prose poetry collection, This Will Remain With Us, and the other is a short story collection, Stories Written On Covid Walls. She also self-published a sci-fi novella, Waken and a small short story collection, Name’s Keeper.

We went somewhere, maybe to a museum, and they had that fortune teller machine, almost identical to the one in the movie, Big. I got a card, but for whatever reason, I couldn't read it. I hurried to my father and asked him to read it, and whatever it said, it scared the hell out of him. He demanded that I show him the fortune teller machine, but when I went back to where it was, it wasn't there.(less)
