Kiba Snowpaw's Blog

50 hours books like candy

In the heart of HowlStrom's icy expanse, where the wind whispers secrets only known to the ancient spirits, sits Kiba Snowpaw, the Alpha of the Ice Wolf Clan. With fur as white as the snow that blankets the world he commands, and eyes as piercing as the frost that bites at the bones of the unwary, Kiba finds himself wrestling with a challenge unlike any other — the daunting length of "The Wandering Inn: Book 1" audiobook.

Just days ago, under the glow of the aurora that dances above HowlStrom, Kiba concluded this 50-hour saga, diving headfirst into the second book, only to find himself ensnared once more in an endless blizzard of words. "How do mortals find the time?" he growls to himself, the frustration evident in his tone. His mind, sharpened by the survival instincts that come with leading a pack, struggles to maintain focus on such a drawn-out tale.

Kiba longs for the simplicity and directness of tales like "Nancy Drew Mystery Stories" — short, fun, and to the point. These stories are like the quick hunts, satisfying and without unnecessary prolonging. But "The Wandering Inn," with its extensive world-building and a myriad of characters weaving through its narrative like tracks in the snow, leaves Kiba with a headache sharp as ice. "It's not that it's a bad tale," he admits, his voice a low rumble like thunder over the frozen lakes. "Most of it is necessary, but by the spirits, it's a long trek through a blizzard to keep up."

The countless names swirl around him like a snowstorm, leaving him disoriented more often than not. "Who was that character again?" he muses, lost amidst the flurry of introductions and events. Despite listening at a speed that would make the swift hares of HowlStrom seem slow, 2.36x to be precise, reducing the ordeal to roughly 20 hours, the task remains Herculean.

"I'm only halfway through the second book," Kiba laments, his breath forming clouds in the cold air of his den. "And with three more looming on the horizon, each as lengthy as the last, I find myself contemplating if it's worth continuing this journey." He shakes his head, fur bristling with the decision made. "Once I conquer this current tome, I shall seek out shorter tales, ones that don't require a season's commitment to traverse."

As the Alpha, his duty is to lead and protect his pack, to share with them the tales that unite and inspire. "We will venture into stories that don't stretch endlessly like the winter nights," he declares, standing tall, his gaze fixed on the distance, where the northern lights play across the sky. "Tales that are sharp and focused, like the bite of the frost."

And so, Kiba Snowpaw, the Ice Wolf Alpha, makes a vow to himself and his pack — to seek out stories that mirror the swift, decisive nature of their lives in HowlStrom. "There's a world of tales out there," he muses, "ones that we can explore without losing ourselves in the blizzard of words."

In the heart of the ice, under the watchful eyes of the spirits and the ancient auroras, the Ice Wolf Clan will gather to share these new stories, finding warmth in the tales and in the bond that unites them. And Kiba Snowpaw, their Alpha, will lead them through each tale, a guide through the storm, a beacon in the night.

Gaming in 2023 are getting really bad.

The rise of automation in the gaming industry has been a double-edged sword. On one hand, engines like Unity and Unreal have democratized game development, offering a plethora of tools at developers' fingertips. However, this convenience often comes at a cost. Many argue that these engines, while user-friendly, can produce inefficient code that doesn't always utilize the appropriate hardware. For instance, certain processes like Ray Tracing (RT) might rely heavily on the CPU. So, if you're using an older generation CPU, you might find it struggling, forcing you to upgrade not just the CPU, but potentially the RAM and motherboard as well, all while your GPU is barely breaking a sweat.
Furthermore, the integration of AI in game development has its own set of challenges. While AI can assist in creating vast and intricate game worlds, it can also introduce a myriad of bugs. Fixing these bugs becomes a Herculean task when developers don't fully understand the AI-generated code. This lack of transparency and control can lead to games that feel generic, lack depth, or are riddled with glitches.
It's no wonder many gamers find themselves reminiscing about older games, which, despite their limitations, had a certain charm and polish. These games were crafted with meticulous attention to detail, something that's becoming rarer in today's era of automated game development.

From Echoes to Epics: A Novice's Leap into Literary Realms

Whispers of the FrostboundWhispers of the Frostbound
Embarking on this literary journey, this is my first genuine attempt at crafting a story. I've drawn inspiration and knowledge from the myriad of audiobooks I've devoured and the fanfiction I've delved into. I confess that I am not a seasoned writer. The art of writing challenges me, and to add to that, English isn't my native tongue.

The full version is available on Kindle. By purchasing this book, you're not just obtaining a piece of literature; you're contributing to the improvement and expansion of its sequel. I'm deeply engrossed in the process of penning the next installment. Your support will enable me to pour more time and passion into ensuring it spans at least 10 riveting chapters.

I earnestly urge you to assist in elevating this story's quality. By securing a copy on Kindle, available across all Amazon countries, you'll be making a significant difference. For those in the US, here is the link to Amazon.
