“Forty years after his death, I dream my brother and I are walking arm in arm down a country lane in the late afternoon sun. He's close to twenty in my dream and heavier, taller. I can't stop crying.

"Hughie, I've missed you so much. I just love you so much."

He looks down, squeezes me tight.

"I know, Cath. I know.”
Cathie Borrie, The Long Hello: Memory, My Mother, and Me

“Whatever you can do or dream you can, begin it.
Boldness has genius, power and magic in it!”
John Anster, The First Part Of Goethe's Faust

Tom Blubaugh Cathie, thanks for joining my community of friends. Blessings, Tom.

Maureen Mullis Hello Cathie! Thank you for adding this fellow author into your circle of friends here on Goodreads. I hope you'll add my novels including the cozy mysteries (What Would Nancy Do?, Lethal Prescription), In the Company of Women, The Christmas to Remember and Finding Normal to your to-read list. I look forward to reading your book reviews and recommendations. Happy reading!

Cathie Borrie Wonderful! Did you ever see the film? I am afraid to. At least I think there was a film - it certainly lends itself to the form! I just re-read To Kill a Mockingbird, which I ADORE. The film measures up.
Am into short stories right now, obsessively.
Warm regards,

CB

Nafiza Hey Cathie, thanks for the friend request. And I do love I Heard the Owl Call My Name. I read it in grade 10 in Fiji and I think it was one of those books that resonated with me and stayed with me. It's always awesome to meet a fellow Canadian!
