Ottavio Fatica è uno dei più stimati e considerati traduttori italiani. Ha insegnato la pratica del tradurre a numerosi talenti. Fra le sue traduzioni più importanti, spiccano Moby-Dick di Melville, i Diari di Byron, i Taccuini di Henry James, carteggio di Elizabeth Bishop-Robert Lowell, Magia di W.B Yeats, e un gran numero di opere di Kipling, e poi Fitzgerald, Faulkner, Joyce, Lafcadio Hearn e tanti altri.
Vincitore, nel 1994, del Premio Mondello per la traduzione di Limericks di Edward Lear e del Premio Monselice (2007) per La Città della tremenda notte di Kipling.
Fra i poeti ha tradotto i Limericks di Edward Lear, Elizabeth Bishop, Nina Cassian, W. H. Auden. Ha portando a termine la nuova traduzione della trilogia del Signore degli Anel ...more
