Martijn Eickhoff is senior researcher at NIOD Institute for War, Holocaust and Genocide Studies (Amsterdam, The Netherlands) and KITLV, and participates in the Regional Studies-project, within the Decolonisation, Violence and War in Indonesia, 1945-1950-programme. He writes about the history and afterlife of war, mass violence and regime change in Asia and Europe during the 19th and 20th centuries, with a special focus on spatial, material and transcultural aspects. He is affiliated with NIOD since 2006. He was also Assistant-Professor at Radboud University Nijmegen (RUN) from 2006 until 2015.
