Courtney A. Short holds a PhD in History from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and specializes in military, American, and Japanese history, as well as race and identity studies. She previously served as Assistant Professor and Deputy Department Head at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs.
