Quotes by Nicholas Pullen (?)

“Garrett’s accent wasn’t precisely refined, but he could easily have passed for an Exhibitioner: the working-class boys of great promise that the colleges would finance to remove them from the worlds they’d known and thrust them into a world they were entirely unprepared for, and in which they would never fully belong.”

“I read from the third and fourth centuries AD. You could see the old world dying and a new one being born right on the page.”
