“Now I'm going out to dinner with my parents."
"Your parents?"
"Yeah. They really do exist."
"It's eight-thirty."
"Yeah, well if you're rich and pretentious you're supposed to eat late. It's one of the rules."
"Doesn't that become tiresome?"
"Inordinately.”

“Joel arrived at Hemmant beach in a pair of white nylon shorts. He knew they'd be see-through once they were wet, and he deliberately didn't wear any underwear, because he wanted to be in the surf, practically naked, and have people looking at him.”

“It was written in a red felt marker, and his first thought was that it was from Sarah, though it didn't look like a girl's writing. A girl would make it pretty, with kisses and smiley faces, and she would do it in colored pens and make an envelope as well.”

yourself in a world

everybody else means to fight the hardest battle

Thanks for asking. Hope I didn't offend you by not asking sooner.

Hi Todd, thanks for your friendvite. And yes, I am very keen your books for they are quite out there. I do enjoy nonconformity especially in fiction. I loved to be kept in suspense of what's to come and to be surprised at the end. And your book did that.
Don't ever hesitate, Todd! You have fans who love your books! Add those any time, if you want. It's always a pleasure for a reader to feel close to an author he likes and appreciates :)
Oh, you shouldn't be honoured. I always hesitate to ask. I don't want to come across as pushing my work.
