I would also say Annie and David from "David's Song," but I'm a bit prejudiced in their favor. With deeper thought and longer consideration, I would have to say Jamie and Claire from Outlander, (For the record, Jamie is not my favorite character in the series. I'm in the minority, I know.) Their my favorite couple because they both allow the other to be the person they were meant to be--even if that causes difficulty in their relationship. In the series, they grow together as a couple and as individuals as well. They are supportive and protective of each other. And let's face it--Jamie can be horribly romantic when he wants to be!(less)

When You Don't Know What You're Doing

So, I've been at the book writing business for almost 10 years now. You would think you'd learn a lot in 10 years. And in some respects, I have.

I have learned how to write using adverbs sparingly. (haha...did you catch that?)
I have learned how to use a comma, for the most part.
I have learned how to create realistic and compelling characters.

But I have not learned how to use social media. I have an Read more of this blog post »

The Eyre Affair by Jasper Fforde
"I had the same feeling after reading this as I had after reading The Looking Glass Wars. Fabulous idea, terrible execution. I was going to give it one more star than I gave that because it's not quite as badly written. And I liked the idea of door-to" Read more of this review »

Where to start. First, let me say the premise behind 'The Eyre Affair' was intriguing and had such great possibility. The delivery lacked.

I just never could suspend belief in this crazy novel to buy into the world created...although I appreciated th

This book is definitely for the science fans. I couldn't finish it. To me it was a major amount of telling and little showing. (It did make an interesting movie. probably because you could show what was going on instead of living in Dr. Grace's head. ...more

I wish there were half stars. I would give this a 3.5. It's an interesting story set in a interesting, almost idyllic world. But war is threatening.

Brower did a nice job setting the stakes and developing characters. Queen Eleanor is a sympathetic fig

I don't give many 5 star reviews, but this book deserved it. All for sounding cliche: I laughed, I cried, I couldn't put this book down. It's been a long time since a book has absorbed me like this.

Brower created a unique and extremely likable heroin

Delightful in a cozy mystery kind of way.

The sensory details that Mitchell used were superb. There were moments when I was sure I was sitting on a beach deck listening to the waves and enjoying the warmth.

Relationships were tender and fun. It was gr
