I was thrilled that Lawyers Beyond Borders was chosen as a book of the year, Human Rights!
The book really reveals a lot about how law and politics operate, how movements start, expand, and get shut down.
And how one person can spark such a movement with creativity and ideas.
And how the whole thing can be destroyed if we are not paying attention.
It reveals the global system, whose rights count and whose do not. And how some people sought to change all that -- and did! At least for some survivors of egregious human rights abuses.
