Nancy Pelander Johnson grew up in the mountains of Colorado. She became a desert dweller when she met her husband Richard, a native Arizonan. After retiring as an R.N. for a skilled nursing facility, Nancy earned a certification to play therapeutic harp music for patients at the bedside. She has a degree in "commercial" Spanish for business and spent a summer in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

She wrote her first poem, "Ode to a Telephone Pole," at age nine. A call to puppet ministry ignited her desire to study ventriloquism and co-write skits with a fellow puppeteer. Later, she became the author of "95 Animals of the Bible" and "44 Animals of the Bible." She has had other stories and devotionals published in Christian periodicals.
